The Smoke

Less than 24 hours now until I will be attending my first London Meet since March. It's also going to be the first time that I have seen the new venue and I'm really looking forward to it. I have heard good things about it so I am anticipating a really good, furry filled day (it's got to be better than that glorified strip bar we were in early last year).

It's going to be a great, well-earned, relaxing weekend on the company's expense. Two weeks into the New Year and I already feel tired and rundown (I had an argument today with my fellow director because of it - all sorted now) so to have a rare, whole weekend off is something I am relishing. Plus I will be with my mate, which is the icing on an already rather delicious looking cake.

If you are at the meet, see you there or perhaps at another time over the weekend - we are staying in Euston so pretty central if fun is going on :-)

I haven't been to one since May last year, and I don't think I'll be able to attend one for the foreseeable future, owing to working weekends permanently. I should be thankful that I have a steady job, but I'm really out of the furry loop as a consequence :/

Last year I was in a similar situation due to the need to work weekends with my job. I am trying to get more weekends off this year now though as, as you say, it starts to eat into your social life.

I may be in a position at work where I'll get the odd weekend off soon. If not, I'll have to go elsewhere at some point in the nearish future - recession or no recession - as not only is working weekends at my workplace hateful in itself, I don't really have a social life at all any more :/

I understand how you feel hun - not being able to socialise due to work demands is so frustrasting, particularly when I know few people in my local area. I hope it all works out for you :)
