Alternate Fursonas

How many of you have more than one fursona?
Do you alternate between different fursonas (depending on mood or current experiences perhaps)?
Do you have fursonas that once meant a lot to you but have since been made redundant in favour of another fursona?

I only ask because of a reply I received from [livejournal.com profile] chakatstreak  in one of the topics below.

To me, Lupestripe has only ever been one fursona and although he migrated from being pure wolf to wolf/husky hybrid, the characteristics have stayed the same. The fun-loving, bouncy canid with a penchant for being pink and floofy is how I would like the world to be and I project this through my fursona. Equally, I project the person I want to be through it too - bouncy, happy, carefree and liberated from the many problems that life tends to throw our way.

I guess this is similar to that of a lot of furs but if you have more than one fursona, what does this mean? Do your different fursonas represent different aspects of your personality? Do you connect to them spirituality? Are they representations of your dreams and what you hope to be (or what you hope the world to be)? Or is it simply because you can empathise with more than one creature and like the variety?

With me, I just want to be a canid. I feel empathy for the species, I like their general attitude and I think they are goddarn cute. Life would be so much simplier if I was a dog. Everyone has a different relationship with their fursona though. What's yours?

I was having this discussion with someone just yesterday!

I can't understand having more than one 'fursona', to be honest. For me, a fursona is a personal reflection in its entirety. I can understand having more than one 'character' in a roleplaying sense.

There's a lot of gray areas. If we were to determine fursonas as characters that you have created and roleplayed as then I would have over 100 fursonas because I have created so many, but Azuma (Golden Retriever) is my official fursona.

At the end it's down to personal preference, "to each their own", but in my opinion if you have to seperate fursonas to reflect your personality, then you should combine them together, even if that does create some sort of monstrous hybrid. =D

Then again i'm not fond of the unoriginality of hybrids. Go figure. I can't be pleased. =P

but that's a point.. to most people a fursona is just a RP experience
it's something they do for fun or to be different

That's true. Like I said there are a lot of gray areas; it's impossible to define what a fursona is, or what it should be.
