Lost In Translation

So I spent the evening around at Mr P's, by which I mean Patter, doing some German translation on his behalf. We sank a few cold ones and went to a local takeaway with disappointing chips, no garlic sauce and a surly waiter who quite clearly didn't want to be there. The burger was divine though, made all the more gorgeous by the addition of Morrison's Own Brand Tomato Ketchup. Flame grilled to perfection.

We ended up just chatting and chilling - and watching the hilariously named Dave Ja Vu. We saw the episode of Top Gear where Stig died, Robot Wars with Craig Charles (which justified my view that the show was much better before it became just round after relentless round of battles - the obstacle course in the early series was brilliant). The Nineties graphics didn't look anywhere near as sleek now as they did 12 years ago - it was like watching kids' show Knightmare all over again. Still, it was interesting to consider how kind time may have been to the 'robot ears' over the past decade or so.

We also saw CSI NY and NCIS. These two shows I had never really seen before but I thoroughly enjoyed them, even though the introduction of new characters at a particular point in the episode seemed to lurch the plot a little too much, making it seem all too convenient. Still, the shows were engaging and they made me get a far later bus home than I intended, which promptly broke down halfway home because it ran out of fuel. Another triumph for First there then.
