"Thai cops punished by Hello Kitty"

Police chiefs in Bangkok have devised a new way of shaming officers who transmit minor transgressions such as being late - a Hello Kitty armband. Embroidered with two hearts, the large bright pink motif is designed to be highly visible so the wearer feels suitably embarrassed not do commit such acts again.

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

Am I the only one who thinks this is more of a reward than a punishment? I think I may join the Thai police force and park my panda car erratically with intent to wear a Hello Kitty armband.

Are you sure that you've got certain words in that last sentence in the correct order? It is meant to be a punishment! ;)

Good point! Corrected!! Teaches me to write things quickly in an over-riding sense of anthropomorphic excitement. I guess I was just too wrapped-up in saying "hello" to my kitty. Either that or the loss of bloodflow to my paw due to wearing an overly-tight Hello Kitty armband affected my concentration so much that I put the words in the incorrect order ;)

LOL

I'd find wearing such an armband acutely embarrassing if I were someone in authority and had to wear one...

It depends. I'm a Civil Servant (so assumedly someone with authority) yet that doesn't stop me from occasionally wearing nail varnish to work. I guess it could be acutely embarrassing if you're of a typical character but to me it's one of those things that sounds so bizarre I'd relish doing it.

Heh I saw this in the paper this morning and I thought exactly the same thing. I can think of worse things to be forced to wear!

Oh and I added you as a friend by the way ^^

There are far worse things to be forced to wear - a policeman's uniform for one come to think of it hehe.

No probs *shakes paw* - I'm always happy to meet new furs :)
