Yep I think that's why I feel the way I do about it - it's just astonishingly rude. I don't mind for quarter of an hour but whole evenings dedicated to it? I do feel more relaxed amongst my non-fur friends and perhaps I need to focus on making more contacts outside the fandom. This sort of thing is a common occurrence sadly.
