LJ in its prime was great although a little annoying too I guess. It's amazing how you can look on past events with rose-tinted spectacles.
People who randomly delete their accounts are quite rude, I feel. It certainly damages a lot of their reputation in my eyes. And, as you say, the superficiality of twitter means I know a lot of people far less than I did before. I think that's quite sad for a friendship.
