Furries In Bizarre Magazine

I am a regular subscriber to Bizarre and I've noticed that in the recent issue (May 2008) they say that in the next issue there will be Furries. Does anyone know anything about this?

Isn't Bizarre the mag that looks at sex and lifestyle? I looked at it once and once only last time they ran something about furries (and I don't recall it being good either).

I have a bad feeling about this.

Well Alix *seemed* extremelly nice, and comes from a cosplay background apparently. She seemed to be interested in all aspects of the fandom when she was there, especially the art side of it. Pickle and I spent quite some time chatting with her, and she assured us that the sexuall side of the fandom wasn't what the main thrust of the argument was about.
So, we shall see next month I suppose :)

I went out at lunchtime to see if I could find a copy of Biazzre and yeah it was the same one I remember from a few years back, and its shelved next to "Skin Two" a magazine that covers fetishes, which is rather worrying.

I am not really sure of this, not really because of the person that was researching the item, but really where it’s appearing.

It is a magazine that deals with fetishes yes. But also subcultures and anything else away from the mainstream. If they just went to the meet then I doubt they will report on the fetish aspect of it. The thing is, for a lot of furs, it is a sexual fetish.

It will be interesting to see how the fandom is portrayed by the magazine.

It is but I don't really see there being much of an issue. People who read Bizarre are broad-minded enough not to care even if they do focus on the fetish aspect of it. The anti-furs are hardly going to read a magazine like Bizarre, neither are the bigots etc. So in that respect, whichever way it is portrayed is not a big deal to me.

It's not going to be a big deal if the sexual aspect of the fandom is promoted though. The people who read Bizarre generally have a couple of fetishes themselves so it's certainly not going to be judgemental. I get the impression that it will be an open minded foray into the Fandom and to be honest, of all the magazines to do a feature on the Fandom, Bizarre would be the one I would choose above all others.

The fact that she has a cosplay background also demonstrates an empathy so I am not too concerned.
