I find it quite annoying. I am an adult and I can make my own decisions. Why should my fun (and the fun of the vast majority) be halted just because a mindless few behavine in an irresponsible manner? Apparently, Portugal has similar drinking problems to the UK regarding violence etc yet they would never dream of banning alcohol to the extent we do here. In fact, it was refreshing yesterday to be able to buy a bottle of beer and be able to walk around the city drinking it, before getting on the boat to head back to Diasukeºs. Not one person stopped me or asked me to discard my bottle because I was drinking responsibly. It may sound a little exaggerated, but it was the first time that I have tasted freedom for quite a long time.
