Back From EF...

...and straight back into work, with all the problems you normally get after taking eight days off. Great.

I must admit it has been great being away from the Internet - from the bitterness, the unhappiness and from the pernicious media - all of which, I feel, drag people down far too much. Conversely, it has been great relaxing and having fun, away from all the pressures of modern living (which I am sure contribuites to the bitterness, unhappiness and pernicious nature of the media).

A more in-depth review of EF is to come but suffice to say thanks to Cheetah and all his staff for laying on a spectacular convention :)

Hear, hear.

Sometimes I think the Internet isn't worth it - there seems to be so much hassle and unhappiness inherent in the communication age, part of me wishes it was the 17th century and I could just lie by the fire.

But you can, can't you?

Live in the 17th century? Could be difficult. My town is quite backward though so there is a chance. Electric fire - hmm, not the same as a roaring log fire.

Well, no, you can't live IN the 17th century, but you can live LIKE in the 17th century. Why not just lie by the fire, for instance? Or why not just stop using the Internet, at least for private purposes?

I have this weird quandary where I want to keep in touch with people as I enjoy speaking to people online yet I also get depressed at some of the online activity and unhappiness. It's a weird one.

*noddles* I'm similar.

Do you have much contact with people in real life?

Yep, I try and see people every weekend although my job is extremely restrictive, particularly because I know next to no one in my home town.

I often see my mate once a week though and I do have one or two friends here. The problem is that they are all 25 years old than me at least. Hopefully, when the students return at the end of the month, I may have a few more friends here.
