Charity Fundraising Situation

A week ago, I announced that I was looking to set up a charitable organisation that helped other charities raise funds by organising furries to suit at public events. The response has been favourable and we have a few people on board. If you are interested, then please let me know.

Here is the state of play at the moment:

Website: It's being worked on right now and I am hoping it will be up and running early next week.

CRB Checks: These are not a legal requirement and so I am going to hang fire on getting these done at the moment. However, I still think it would be advantageous for us to get them done at some point. As we are a voluntary charitable organisation, this will be free of charge. I have had this confirmed to me from the CRB people.

Charity Status: The legal rigmarole of setting this up is offputting and I can't see the real benefit of doing this, so I am sitting tight for the moment. I have consulted legal advice on this.

Apart from that, I am pretty excited about getting this off the ground. If anyone has any suggestions, tips or interest, then please get in touch :-)

I've already had a CRB check done through the Scout Association, though a CRB check from one organisation DOESN'T carry over to another, if you volunteer for more than one organisation you need to do a CRB for each of them. If they aren't a requirement at the moment than that's fine, but if you decide we have to do them I do have experience as I'm the one who processes CRB applications for my Scout Group, I'm happy to help out with them should we end up needing them.

With regards the info on my character you asked for...... I have very few reasonable pictures as I only had my fursuit for one weekend at Anthrocon and it's hard to take photos of yourself :P

Once it arrives over here I'll be able to get some for you, I'll have a look through my AC picks this weekend too and see what I can find, and try and write that desc you want.

I think if we got them done it would make the group more professional and, to be honest, I see it becoming legislation sooner rather than later anyway. Thanks for the advice though, it is much appreciated. I know that you can't do CRB checks individually, you have to do them affiliated to an organisation, which means we may have to ask our chosen charities to do them on our behalf. Still, there is no cost so I guess that's the way it is. Thanks for your advice and your support, it is much appreciated.

Any pics would be great, we can cut and crop them. No worries if any aren't suitable (pardon the pun) right now, there is no hurry :)
