Is There Coccidiosis On Your Farm?

Friday was the end of an era as Draken, our friendly Tyne Dragon friend, marked his return to the land of Greggs by hosting a leaving do in Leeds. Clearly the fog on the Tyne has all cleared and he has to go back and make some more in case Newcastle gets exposed for the place it actually is. He leaves on Sunday but is back next Friday for the weekend anyway so this didn't really feel like a leaving do, more a meal with friends.

We gathered at Leeds station at 8.30pm and waited for Funky and Vrek, who were fashionably late and not to mention fashionable, striding as they did in their trendy casual gear and general all-round smexiness. Arcais, Shiro and Kisaro were already there so once the others had arrived, we headed over to The Cattle Grid for steaks aplenty. The range of toppings and extras here is exceptional and it's very easy to gorge yourself silly. We were quite restrained - with me opting for cheese topping and cheesy butter - but it was still a huge plate of food which was excellent value for money. The steak was pink to perfection too, barely cooked and just how I like it. The food there is always top class - we have been three times since discovering it at the turn of the year already.

I sometimes struggle at these sorts of gatherings but I was very relaxed, laughing and joking and generally having fun. I guess it's normal to feel more laidback around certain people over others and the people who were there were very easy to relate to. We'll all miss Draken but hopefully it all works out for him back in Newcastle and that he can visit us often. The evening ended in The Brewery Tap where we enjoyed a drink and some desecration before we all headed back on our respective buses home.

Today, with Panthras still here, we opted to go to Wetherspoons for a biiiiiiiig breakfast. I had sausage, chips and beans while Wolfie and Pan opted for a mammoth plate of grease which at £4.40 was excellent value. And we drank beer. Beer with breakfast is always a good start. We then headed over to our local pub to spot a frisky Lincoln the Pub Dog who was bouncing around like a loon. He was very playful and far removed from his usual sedate, almost reserved, self, unintentionally scratching Mister Wolf in the process. He has been shaven recently and perhaps he's full of the joys of spring - either way, he just wanted to play!!

After this, we headed home and watched the tailend of the Everton game and the start of the Six Nations, before Pan headed home and we headed to bed. Naps in the middle of the day are never a good idea as I always wake up and feel groggy and heady for the rest of the day, but with Mark Steel to see, this is what we had to do. My account of that is below.
