The Nature Of Karma

Do you believe that, ultimately, good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people? Perhaps not on a day-by-day basis but in life in general?
I used to believe in karma but events over the last three months have severely tested this. Yet, to be honest, karma is one of the major things that's keeping me going right now. I am hoping and believing that I deserve a fresh start. I'm on my way to achieving it but with no significant breakthrough on the job front, I am starting to feel a little demoralised. I know it's only been two weeks but playing the waiting game is contrary to my nature - I like things to be done, I live at a fast pace, I am starting to feel that unemployment dread.
Job situation at 20 January:
Applied for - 27
Pending - 24
Of Which Partial Successes - 2
Rejections - 3
The house situation is a similar case of affairs. We are in the process of applying to rent one in Pudsey but the endless administration is going to take time, as well as a significant amount of money in the form of an "administration fee". Can anything be simple in life, I wonder?
