Spare Any Change, Please?
Jul. 6th, 2007 08:52 pmWhen will it stop raining?! The garden's now flooded and I'm fearful the den will be next to go. I've been rained on as I have walked home from work these last two days and still it shows no signs of abating. And they call this summer? Grrr!
Not even the rain (or the postal strike) could stop the delivery of a rather nice letter and certificate from the Kirkwood Hospice people for the fursuiting collection we did a couple of weeks ago at Batley's Carnival 4 Life. It's really touching that such a relationship exists between the Kritters and the Hospice and I only hope we can do even more to aid such a worthwhile cause. I have decided that I may frame the certificate as our achievements that weekend are something of which I am immensely proud. I also cannot wait to repeat the experience next weekend :-)
This weekend sees me in Cambridge to witness the marriage of one of my friends from University to her long-term partner. This is the first wedding involving a Uni friend of mine and although I am extremely happy for both her and her fiance, I can't help but feel that perhaps I should be more serious about my life. After all, the wistful student days have long since departed and I'm hurtling rapidly towards 25 with no real definite plans. But then, meh! I'm happy at the moment and my life is progressing in the direction I want it to so I can't really complain. Those plans are starting to be formed and I've never been one for the 2.4 children lifestyle anyway - I think I would get bored too easily.
