AS OF TODAY I AM THE PROUD SPONSOR OF MY VERY OWN WOLF! YEYS!!!!
*RUNS AROUND AND SNOUTDONKS INTO SOMETHING*

Remember about a week ago when I mentioned that my work colleagues asked for my address but that they refused to tell me why they wanted it? Well today I found out why. They've only gone and sponsored a wolf on my behalf! How cool is that?! Forget the usual books or useless tat you often get when you leave work - I've just got the bestest present ever! How lucky am I?!

As you may have gathered today I left my current job and tomorrow I start my new role with a completely different company. I'm slightly apprehensive but I know I have made the right decision so I am also looking forward to it.

Today we went for my leaving meal at a local pub. It was really sad to say goodbye to my work colleagues of the last 18 months but equally I know that through the miracle of modern communications I can keep in touch with most of them.

The meal itself was particularly sedate - the food was of high quality - and I was really touched with the number of people who were genuinely sad to see me leave. My leaving card, adorned with really kind comments, is one of the most treasured items I now possess. It's nice to be appreciated and it's also nice to feel I have made an appreciative contribution to other people's lives.

Afterwards I went into Bedale, a town at the foot of the Yorkshire Dales, with a good friend of mine. I'd never been there before and it was a good opportunity to catch up with my friend, who had left the workplace three weeks ago after his contract had expired. We caught up over a few drinks and five games of pool (I lost every single time *sob*) before losing a shedload of money on those evil quiz machine things. Still we had a good time and hopefully we can repeat this in the near future.

I also discovered that every pub in this small market town has a dog in it. They were all adorable but the one that stood out was the German Shepherd puppy in The White Bear, the last pub we visited. He was an 11-week old puppy called Winston and he spent most of the time on the floor playing with his chew-toy. He also confused my hand for a chew-toy when I knelt down to stroke him - he really was so adorable. He also had his little cage in the centre of the pub  - it was soooo sweet *wags*.

Another dog called Rosco had also been trained to eat crisps but only at the master's command. So you could make him wait for a few minutes and then say that his "Penance" had been fulfilled and that he could eat the crisp. He also a stroke-whore and was adorable too!
