It really is a most fantastic colour, isn't it?
The Shep visit is going well - today we visited Newcastle as he hadn't been there before. We met a couple of Newcastle furs (Urban, Draken, Xenon, Pysthu and Sweek) and Shep marvelled at the bridges down by the quayside.
We also went to the fair where I went on the Big Wheel and a silly little roller coaster thing that was so rickety, all that happened was that I banged my head on the way down. Still, to get to the top you had to go up a vertical tube so you were effectively lying on your back in the cart. We also played a few "Hook A Duck" type games and I won a free small husky plush. This was yeys! I wanted the bigger one from the cheating grabby machine but it wouldn't let me pick up my prize so I didn't win it *cries*
We also got rained on - both naturally and also on the Big Wheel when the wind blew some settling water in our direction from the pod above us. It was quite a shock and the wind made the experience far more exciting, as well as the attendant who insisted on twirling our pod. Wheee!! Shep's acerbic humour was once again to the fore as he ended up looking at a block of flats.
I'm also finding out about the delights of painting stoats in Parsley Boobs and also exploring more of my home town (it's amazing how little you actually see of your home town until you are showing a friend around it). Yesterday, we went to see the Transporter Bridge and afterwards went into the adjoining St Hilda's, a place earmarked for demolition. It was the first settlement in Middlesbrough (in 1831) and most houses there are boarded up. Even the old Town Hall and some of the buildings are lying untouched, with weeds growing in their unkempt surroundings. It was very sad to see but also eeriley romantic.
*I promise that my ConFuzzled report is coming real soon ;-)
