I co-manage an Internet company that has no Internet connection. Tomorrow will be day 16 of a protracted affair regarding the installation of a broadband and phone line into our new office (which we moved into on Monday). When I say day 16 - this is the 16th day since the first day that they said they would come.

Since then the job has been cancelled four times without us even being informed. Incompetence doesn't come anywhere near it.

In other news, the fish and chip shop right next door to where I live has closed down. The premises is going to form an extension of the pizza shop next door to it (sadly the poorer quality pizza shop of the two near me).

This means that the nearest chippie is ten minutes walk up the road - a far less convenient proposition. Granted the proprietor of the chip shop next door was a pushy bastard and the fish was flavourless but at least it was convenient, particularly at closing time.

I have also found out that in addition to the new bed shop that opened a few weeks ago, a new computer shop has opened too. This makes my neck of the wood some sort of furry heaven: Internets, yiff and yiffing potential...

For once common sense has prevailed. This court case posed a significant threat to civil liberties and the fact that the court has ruled in favour of Max Mosley protects those liberties for those who dare to live an unconventional lifestyle.

What people do in the privacy of their own houses should be their own business and this verdict has protected us from an increasingly intrusive and nefarious media, one that so often fails to exercise restraint and responsibility.

Mosley wins court case over orgy

Mr Justice Eady said Mosley could expect privacy for consensual "sexual activities (albeit unconventional)" and "...there was no public interest or other justification for the clandestine recording, for the publication of the resulting information and still photographs, or for the placing of the video extracts on the News of the World website - all of this on a massive scale."

Irrespective of Eady not calling this a "landmark" case, it still sets a precedence and proves that civil liberties are still valued by some in this country.

This first appeared as a response to one of my LJ posts last week and Schnee then posted it on his LJ too. I think this is an amazing idea and if we can get a pack of huskies together to make it a reality, it would be fantastic :)

Something I'd really love to do some day would be to get a bunch of husky fursuiters together, go on a vacation to Finland or so, and harness them all up and make them pull sleds. ^.^ It'd probably be borderline BDSM (at the very least - in the same way that ponyplay etc. are), but that's not a bad thing...
