Tomato Ketchup
Oct. 5th, 2008 10:31 pmShould it go in the cupboard or in the fridge? It's the burning issue in my relationship with Wolfie and one that is threatening to tear us apart...
In other news, the Newcastle meet was today and I had a great time. I hope everyone else did too. Sadly, we were caught between the Great North Run and Newcastle United playing Everton on the telly so between the proverbial rock and a hard place. Still, we made the best of it.
I didn't fancy being in a pub with topless dancers and drunk football supporting Geordies (the very kind I am allergic to) so it was decided that bowling would be the order of the day. Unfortunately, when we got up there, we were told we would have to wait an hour for bowling and that we had to buy our drinks from the snack bar as the pub was closed until 6pm (which then mysteriously opened as we were leaving - we're not THAT scary are we?).
This meant that we headed back into town and into Twist - a non-football showing bar where we partaked in the finest wines (well, okay, a rather grotty rose) available to humanity. And a packet of salt and vinegar Seabrook. We found out that the Hartlepool based Lupus likes Graham Norton's cock and a watched a weird video entitled Lollipop that had two cartoon bunnies fucking and a wolf who kept popping up everywhere.
Apart from that, we got accosted by a group of six chavs who thought it would be hilarious to pass comment on us. One of them shouted "PINK!!" at the top of his voice when he saw my hair, presumably because he had just learned the colour in nursery school the week before. Still, what with my experiences in Middlesbrough of late, in a way it was reassuring to know that this problem was not limited to my hometown.
So yep, it was very much a quiet, pub based talky meet. Nothing wrong with that at all - and the best that could be arranged what with the obstacles put in front of us. Pizza Hut was great even though they fluffed up the order and an attendence of around twenty was a very comfortable, almost homely, number. I hope everyone enjoyed :-)
Next month we will be having a James Bond themed meet to celebrate the release of the new Bond movie, Quantum of Solace. We may also go and see it if the cinemas aren't too busy. Meet at noon, Sunday 2nd November at Newcastle Central station.
And finally - on the tomato ketchup debate - it's quite clearly in the fridge, isn't it?
