So I see that BBC Three have a new show out - My Life As An Animal - which starts on 16 April. The concept is that eight "celebrities" have to act like and live with a particular species of animal for four straight days. The animals include dogs, pigs, goats, penguins and seals, and the "celebrity" must live like that animal at all times.

The only clip I have seen is of someone "learning to speak pig" and headbutting a pig in order to show dominance.

The programme makers say that it promises to be a scientific and behavioural look at animals in an attempt to fathom out more about their day to day lives and their social structure. However, as "celebrities" are involved, it smacks a little of voyeurism to me too. This is BBC Three after all, hardly the bastion of the cultured.

Having said that, the fact that you are treat as an animal, having to eat, drink and communicate like a dog/pig/goat etc awakens my interest in pet play and animal roleplay (on all levels) and it should be interesting to watch merely from that perspective. In fact, from that angle, I am really looking forward to it - although I am a little dismayed that the "celebrities" aren't naked whilst doing this, simply for authenticity reasons.

*Having said "celebrity", they do seem to be of the intelligent type and are not mainstream. They are also guided and overlooked by scientists and professionals in animal behaviour.
