So I move in with Wolfie tomorrow. He picked up the keys on Thursday and his stuff is already in the flat. His father is driving up to Middlesbrough to pick up my things around lunchtime and then I will be heading down to Pudsey with him, turning my back on the town that has caused so much pain over the last two years. Still, it's sad to be moving out of my Dad's place in a way - he has been ridiculously supportive and is even sending me away with a cheque in my paws. It's reassuring to know that in my hour of need, my family stood by me and beyond.

I do have some good memories over the last two years and a handful of great friends here too. On Wednesday, I went to The Camel's Hump - a student favourite that used to be a working mans' pub - in the town for an impromptu furmeet. I taught the new barmaid how to pull Guinness and we had a nice chat. She also got confused between Canadian Ham and Prawn Cocktail Seabrooks - the colour of the packages causing the consternation.

Zash, Zash's flatmate (top bloke, we ate cheese together in the past, I was drunk, I sat in the sink), Dawn, Obsidian and an Australian fur whose name shamefully escapes me, shared a drink or six and some convivial conversation. It was an excellent evening, full of beer and great company. I also met a former friend of my former employer who echoed my sentiments over what had happened at the tail end of last year regarding work. Back to furry and I am beginning to enjoy smaller meets more and more - I may go to fewer of the bigger ones in the future. They do little for me these days. It's a shame that the community in Middlesbrough is only fledgling now - it would have been great to have had that back in 2008-09.

On Friday, I went to my former landlords', the hotel across the road from where I used to live. Again, another six cans of Guinness were drunk and I had a pizza for old times. Cipolla and garlic sauce - £3.40 and the best in the world. Seriously. Bumped into one of the few gays in Middlesbrough and we shared a drink, with him backing up my views on my former employer too. Also met an interesting Londoner and we chewed the fat over world politics and the like for three hours. Then a former flatmate came over to tell me he was moving out too - to a bungalow in a nearby area of depression. So the last of the gang has now moved on, the end of an era and the start of a new one.

It all starts tomorrow I guess. I'm apprehensive but we can only see what happens. It's going to be a change, a challenge perhaps, but one that I think will ultimately be worth it. But there's no point second guessing, will just have to see what happens. I just fear my forthright attitude and chronic sensitivity could become an overbearing issue. I'm not the easiest person to live with - hell, I can't live with myself.

Anyway, due to BT being a pack of *****, I doubt I will be online for the next week or so as we need to sort all the phone line and Internet out. It really isn't helping the job search but that is the hand I have been dealt. The move is going to keep us pre-occupied for a bit but hope to chat soon :-)
