In an attempt to beat the rapidly increasing bulge on the front of my person, I started swimming again for the first time in a year. Granted, it's a bit expensive at our local leisure centre - £3.90 a pop - but at least I can do it a few evenings a week (apart from Thursday as it's Women's Night for some reason) without worrying about having to fit it around work shifts. I'd really love to do a martial art but fitting it around my erratic working hours will be tough as I can't really commit to one free evening a week.
Anyway, swimming was fun although very tiring. Despite this I pushed myself and was pretty pleased with my 31 lengths - not bad for a first time out and I am looking forward to going again tomorrow. I even made a couple of friends too (who I let go past me on numerous occasions as I am so slow and unfit) which was an added bonus. I also saw an old guy in some really tight black lycra trunks avec bulge. Not quite sure what to make of that one.
