Santas, Santas Everywhere!
Dec. 5th, 2010 11:13 pmThis morning was the Martin House Santa Run at the White Rose Centre - 70 people dressed as Santa running around a desolate shopping mall at the ungodly hour of 8.30am. It was quite a surreal sight seeing them all doing their warm-up (which was more strenuous than the run itself it appeared). The real Santa, who was also there, didn't join in as he was too large and needed a pillar to support him. I was stewarding the race - I have to keep this belly intact you know - by checking people were okay and shouting encouragement. Which at 8.30am is tough.
Still, it was a fun and rewarding morning and it was great representing Paws For Cause and helping out. There is a sense of camarderie which is starting to develop between myself and the Hospice, which is most pleasing. Hopefully we're going to be doing loads of events in the New Year, so stay tuned :)
