I would be lying if I said I was happy. It has been a very tough week, both personally and professionally, and the ridiculously poor bus service in this city is not aiding my mood. Granted things have improved as the week has progressed and some progress has been made, particularly at work. However it has been a struggle.

At the wedding last week, two points were made: People like my hair (I am growing it long again) and I have put on weight. Cue paranoia about my belly. I wish my body was one of those that didn't put on weight or, if it desperately has to, I wish it did so evenly. Sadly not. I am thin everywhere else aside from my gut and this stands out like the last pork pie in the butcher's shop.

The problem is that I do eat healthily and I do take exercise. I drink far less now than ever and am not a sedentary person by any means. Just shifting the fat is tough though. Add to this my aversion of muscles - just the sight of them makes me ill - and it's difficult to know what to do as expensive gym work is out (gyms tend to be a waste of money anyway for me). I am not drinking at all during the week and doing an hour of brisk walking most evenings, taking advantage of the light nights and warmer weather. Now I have less work on and more spare time, hopefully it will work. I may also return to swimming.

One thing which should aid me is tomorrow's Paws For Cause event - four straight hours of suiting. It will be fun to wear my husky again - haven't done so since last June. Perhaps more suiting is what I need as the exercise will undoubtedly help. Losing weight the furry and fun way - hooray!
