Onion Lollipops
Aug. 14th, 2011 06:55 amWolfie and I both love Japanese food so it was a delight to find three previously unheard of restaurants in central Leeds.
We settled on Little Tokyo, which is an underground restaurant full of running water, fish and women in traditional attire. You could have table seating or on-floor dining whilst the sake, I am told, was most pleasant. We had avocado tempura with ginger and wasabi dip, charcoal onion lollipops and I tried a Japanese curry. This restaurant is definitely worth going back to.
After Friday night's pubbage with Patter, Daemon, Graafen, Enteirah and Avon, I was feeling ropey yesterday. We stayed in Calls Landing until 2am before Avon kindly drove us home. I knocked a beer over whilst I bought Avon an oyster to try. He didn't like it, saying it was sandy. He had initially wanted me to share some oysters but it tastes like snot to me so I declined. A bird also pooped on us. Imagine if it had been Big Bird off Sodomy Street.
We spent most of Saturday in the Trafford and White Rose Centres looking for shoes. My new shoes of three months have already sprung a leak so we had to trail around the shops looking for a new pair before EF. I find nothing more tedious than clothes shopping but the mall wasn't too busy and we did get to see a self-playing grand piano and Victorian carousel in a hidden part of the mall. And I did get my shoes eventually :)
