Paws Behind Your Back
Oct. 30th, 2011 10:26 amYesterday's Leeds Meet was a lot of fun and afforded me the opportunity to speak to furs with whom I hadn't conversed for a while. It's great to see a burgeoning furry culture here, meaning there may be many more social opportunities in the future. Hopefully this will be the case as my online presence is reducing at present.
Massey's Bookstore is an excellent bar which accommodated us well. The staff loved us and I loved the fact they gave us the two steins for £7 offer. The only three other patrons were perplexed by the furs though.
After the pubbage we went bowling where a fat man was dressed like a vampire. We perplexed him too as he was broadcasting his one man radio show to the whole alley. He ran a Trick or Treat promotion where you could apple bob or do a performance. Most people got their faces wet. He wanted to speak to the furs but we were our usual disorganized selves. The kids loved the suiters though.
It was around this time we heard the sad death of Jimmy Savile. He was a local legend, a generous charity fundraiser, a real eccentric and a key part of my childhood. His character was so unique that he will be missed by many. Very sad news. We always seem to hear it when we are in Massey's Bookstore. It was Amy Winehouse last time.
We rounded the day off with a curry but by this point most people had gone home. Wolfie went home between ordering and eating as he had a headache - I got his in a puppy bag. The curry was nice, we went back to the station through the rain, discovered one of us had forgotten their wallet and had to go all the way back again. I used Wolfie's curry as a hat so I stayed reasonably dry. My tail was most moist though.
Sil and his flatmate are staying at ours and their tardiness was the reason why I was very late arriving yesterday. On the way back from the meet, we stopped off at the local Sainsbury's where our favourite till lady was serving. I was wearing my furry gear including my submissive wolf collar which she noticed. I guess I now have a lot of explaining to do - I don't wear the furry stuff out and about in my home town. She didn't think my pink tail was scary but I can be a scary pup. Rarrrrr!!!
