Welcome To Tailholes!
Nov. 5th, 2011 10:05 pmLast night's journey down to Bristol was grueling. We ended up starting over an hour late due to circumstances, by which time I had already started drinking. This meant we needed to stop off at the first service station so I could have a wee wee.
We did manage to make it here in the end though, through the hideous rain and fog which seemed to have been plaguing most of the country. We also stopped off at the worst KFC in the world, where we had to wait over 25 minutes for a burgers which were then cooked badly. My chicken was so lubricated it kept plopping out of the floury naps whenever I took a bite.
We arrived in Bristol a little before midnight and Jasper introduced us to a few of his friends. A quick humorous chat, a drink and it was off to bed. I slept quite well despite the fact we are in a four man dorm.
Key problems plagued us this morning meaning we couldn't get our coats out of the room. This resulted in us walking around the city in our T-shirts - not great for November. We found a good pub for breakfast though - Graze - where we tried some delicious ales from the Bath Ale Company. At 11am with breakfast. Their smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast was to die for.
We walked around the city after this, spying the wonderful cathedral and Wallis Tower, as well as the disappointing Bristol Temple Meads station (beautiful on the outside, tiny on the inside - plus we couldn't go on the platform due to the First ticket barriers).
Walking around the city centre, we realized that most places in this country are now identical due to their shopping centers and chain stores. We bumped into Enteirah around this time who took us to The King William Arms where the furmeet was taking place.
There was also a munch going on in this same pub, frequented by 50+ year olds carrying Teddy bears in bondage. Then there was is doing haberdashery and crocheting - surely it should have been the other way round. We did watch a giff gaff advert with a pink spandex gimp in it though.
Registering for Frantic Eufuria followed, followed by a trip to Hooters with Wolfie, Blacksnip and Taneli. I had never been here before and it was quite an experience. Blacksnip kept remembering the infamous South Park episode and I came up with a furry version called Tailholes. Welcome to Tailholes! The girls were big chested, the clientele drunken morons but the food was nice. And that is all that matters I guess.
