Look At The Puppy!

The weekend was a far more relaxing one than we have been accustomed to of late. Fenra came round and we headed down to Sheffield to see Shep, Elfasi, Chorizo and new puppy Katie. Katie's so soft and cute, plus she licked my face a few times which made this puppy happy.

It looks like poor Chorizo is not happy though, he spent a lot of time ignoring Katie, I think he's a little jealous about sharing his life with another dog. The meeting was very brief as the quartet needed to head back south but it was great meeting them, particularly the new arrival.

This was in Hillsborough, an unremarkable Sheffield suburb which we walked around before boarding the tram back to Meadowhall. I was amazed how quick and efficient the tram is, making a large city seem incredibly small, and wish we get one in Leeds. That would be nice.

We dined in Coal, a grill restaurant at Meadowhall which cooked the perfect chimichangas with guacamole and sour cream. We then went home and played Uno, a game I have never actually played before but which was great fun. I also drank some delicious Jubilee ales, including one made from hops from the Sandringham estate which had the nicest aftertaste ever.

We had bought these from our local Marks & Spencer, which had experienced a fire on Wednesday morning. A freezer has caught alight, damaging part of the store. Aside from smoke damage, a few ruined ceiling tiles and ground floor water damage from the sprinklers, everything survived. They had to remove all stock though and replace everything, which they efficiently did overnight with a fleet of lorries. The store opened for business the next morning, a testament to the sheer efficiency of the operation. While at M&S we got to try some gorgeous cheese and cake offerings and chat to the friendly staff. Plus I also bought the ale. And to think I only popped in to survey the fire damage.

I was working Sunday but Fenra and Wolfie met me in North Bar, which the purple dog liked due to its bohemian atmosphere and range of drinks on offer. We ate a North Dog, drank some beer and then headed to the station to see Fen home.
