Picky Puppy!
Sep. 22nd, 2014 09:13 amA week last Sunday, we went to Harrogate to enjoy the spa with Taneli, Arc and Wolfie. We are becoming quite a close quartet now, which is quite nice and as we had a spare afternoon, we opted to go and have a relaxing session in the varying hot rooms, steam rooms and clunge pool. I'm always amazed just how relaxing the spa and sauna complex is, with the Victorian tiling and arched interior adding to the grandiose nature of the building. It's like nourishing the soul while relaxing the body, with the beds another good place to chill. We spent just over two hours in the complex and felt invigorated and relaxed upon our exit. They still have the Express and the Mail in the waiting area - which maybe is a ploy to get people more stressed before they go into the spa area. Meanwhile I'm toying with the idea of having a massage next time, although that will cost extra.
Earlier in the day, we had given Arc her new Violet Leapfrog toy, which she loved, although the read with me one isn't programmable like the My Pal one. Indeed all of this was very much like Arc's birthday back in March as she got a Leapfrog toy then before we went to the spa. She also got to look at our Compare the Meerkat storybooks all written in 'Simples' language, which we had picked up for £1 each at a pound store earlier in the week.
On our way to the spa, we also got to try Coke Life, Coke's new lower calorie drink with natural sugars so the calorie count is bang on halfway between that of normal Coke and Diet. It tasted like they had just mixed the two together..
We didn't get chance to go to TK Maxx to get women's shoes - I'm taking my transvestism more seriously these days and often wear female attire in fetish clubs. I have a dress lady who makes custom clothing for me but sadly 'm lacking in shoes and need to pick some up. Being a size 9 means I can probably get some decent enough shoes in standard shops but I had hoped to try some in store just to comfirm sizing. No doubt we'll do this another time.
After our spa, we opted to get food at the wondrously named Fat Badger, where I had snausages and we also shared some black pudding balls and a delicious jelly infused pork pie. The service was a little slow and the portion size perhaps a little meagre but the quality was exceptional, as was the range of the ale, including a specially crafted beer just for Harrogate bars. Indeed there's a lot going on in Harrogate, with a range of eateries and bars, meaning we will have to go there again more often.
