New Gastronomy Meets

Tonight was May's Coffee Meet, which snuck up on us as the Main Meet was only nine days ago. It was a very pleasant affair, although we did take over most of the downstairs of Laynes as our numbers reached 19. Considering we only started these in September, I am delighted with how popular these have become, with some people such as Cub travelling huge distances just to be with us. It was perhaps a little loud on occasion but the staff at the place have become accustomed to us, and it was the perfect antitode to feeling a little left out of late, what with talk of ConFuzzled, Avengers and a Japanese anime whose name I cannot remember.

After the meet, we decided to go to MOD Pizza, with eight of us dining in the new city centre branch, which only opened last Thursday. I have always wanted to do a LeedsFurs gastronomy thing, but after a Saturday meet it is always difficult due to how busy the restaurants are, along with our big our numbers have become. However, this isn't really a problem on Tuesday so after chatting with Adia at the Kitty Cafe on Saturday, we decided we would visit after the coffee meet today, and drag some others along. Indeed it proved so successful that we have decided to have a meal after every coffee meet, with the hope we will be able to try a new restaurant in the city every time. I'm hoping these prove popular too, and after tonight, I suspect they may be. We didn't get home until 9:30pm as we didn't want to part company. It was a promising start.
