I spent a fair bit of time in suit but there was so much other cool stuff going on out of suit that whatever I did I was happy. Saturday night was the prime example - I was going to suit up for the dance but the whole Vorderman thing took off, I became distracted and I didn't get to bed until after six in the morning. It was cool being able to just dress in suit whenever you liked and everyone was so supportive there that it gave you the confidence to do it. It was great fun (although to be honest I find public suiting easier - I think I get a kick from the reactions of the general public).
The food thing is easily solveable as you say - we didn't have a car or anything so we hopped into a taxi and did some shopping at the local supermarket. It was far cheaper and the food was good quality. I don't mind paying the hotel food prices occasionally but I couldn't have done it throughout the entire con as money was a little tight. Still I thought at €3 the chips at the bar was reasonable - and the drink prices (although this is coming from someone who lives in the UK, one of the most expensive countries in the world for alcohol) were fair too I thought.
I will check out the "Animalympics" a little later on when I've finished my work. I'm looking forward to seeing it :-)
