There are some good Australian beers! =:) Cooper's Sparkling Ale is rather pleasant, reminiscent of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale; or, for more complexity, Little Creatures' version of a pale ale.
I think I'd like to try Beer Lao - whilst rice has earned a terrible reputation courtesy of the US megabrewers, Hitachino Nest in Japan turn out some quite superb brews. (And some cute labels, too =:)
I wonder if you'd like Brew Dog's Hardcore IPA - similar in nature to their Punk IPA, but more in the style of an American Double IPA, at 9%. Not cheap, at around £2 for a 330ml bottle (try Sainsbury), but quite a treat.
