ISTR slycat picked up some manner of attachable spikiness for his shoes last winter, and seemed thoroughly pleased with how well they prevented unintentional skating - maybe pick his brains?
Egh, it's a pain when brains misbehave so badly. It doesn't help that I'm naturally a nighttime sort anyway, prone to staying up late unless I'm especially tired, but as you say, sometimes that sleep just doesn't come until well past most of the night hours, however tired you may know you are. **hug**
