I could write a whole essay on the current EU situation, why I have become an impassioned Anglosceptic and my general feelings of abandonment from popular society in this country but I won't just yet. I have spent all weekend reading English and German newspapers and magazines on this so I may espouse my views later. But not now - an iPhone on the bus is not the best way to check facts and do references.

Last night, Wolfie and I headed around to Enteirah's house in Manchester for a Christmas meal. Turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings were present along with mince pies, ice cream and cheese and biscuits. We also had crackers, wore silly hats and read shockingly bad jokes. It was great fun. Plus there were clockwork mice Miles liked playing with, plus talk of a stunt cock. And Ent dressed up as an adorable bunny for a bit too and I got an origami puppy! ORIGAMI PUPPY!!

Getting there was a bit of an effort as First Bus cancelled their bus so we ended up missing our train. This necessitated a taxi journey at the other end. Heading home, we got to the railway station only for me to discover I left my bag behind. As this had all my keys in it, we had to go back for it, meaning I didn't get home until 2am. Being a sweetie, Wolfie waited for me even though he had to be up early today. I like Wolfie.

The conversation was convivial - I am coming to like small gatherings amongst friends far more than fur wets these days. Some people played Sonic with the deliciously adorable Tails while the rest of us talked. Some good friends were there, including Baloki, Miles and Panthras, as well as Enteirah's girlfriend who it was good to meet for the first time.

Ultimately it was an excellent evening and I had great fun so thanks to everyone there for putting up with my poor attempts at humour. And thanks to Enteirah in particular for being a great host and for the top nosh. I am hoping to host a few house parties myself in 2012 as I

As far as I am concerned old Dave C did both the right and wrong thing.

Right = He said No, and didn't surrender any further sovereignty just to sit at a table and get told how much we have to cough up for idiots like Greece and Italy.

Wrong = It should have gone to referendum rather than JUST his say so (even if the answer was going to be a rather resounding NO).

Of course only time will tell who was wrong or right about what. Though I know we are not the only European country with Eurosketpic feelings, there was a good bit about the situation in Holland on BBC radio 4 this morning about people wanting out from the Euro.

Also why did you need to talk about a stunt cock?

I've already said it of course, but thanks again for heading over. ^^ It was great to have you guys over, especially so at such short notice and with all the extra hassles of travelling on a Sunday. Next time I'll certainly plan these things out much more ahead of time! =:P

I am also coming round to the conclusion that smaller gatherings are better. Should have realized this years ago.

Sounds like it was a really awesome evening :)
