So Wolfie and I have lived together for two years now. Things are bubbling along okay although life's minor irritations are affecting me more than they should. The delegation of washing up, vacuuming and the length of time the heating is left on have both been particular flashpoints of late. I guess I am too fussy and Wolfie is too laid-back, and sometimes this is frustrating. I like to get stuff done, Wolfie is more relaxed and this sometimes creates conflict.

Still generally it's going well and living together is always about compromise. I just need to be more relaxed and submissive about some of these small things. And at least we haven't killed each other yet. I think the balance between together time and alone time aids this - we have some different interests that we like to pursue and some different friends too. This alleviates the feeling of living on top of each other, which we rarely get. So generally living together is working well - we'll see what the next year brings.

I have noticed that Wolfie is indeed very laid back and calm about things :)

Mmm, living with others does add a new dimension to a friendship, sometimes to great success, sometimes simply working out fine, sometimes not working at all. Sadly, I experienced the latter, some time ago, for similarly mundane reasons.. the next house I found, I kept to myself alone. An expensive way, especially in the South Bay, but it certainly was beautifully relaxing.

It does sound like you've managed to find ways of avoiding things coming to a head, or at least, working out how best to proceed with everyone feeling good about it. ^_^

Not that sharing here would really be an option for me, with the warren being but a studio, unless we were very comfortable with each other's company. =:)

Okay, the answer is to be EXACTLY LIKE WOLFY for a month and see if he changes. You might benefit from the experience too.
