Sunday was Wolfie's birthday so we headed to Red's for a meal with some furry friends. This was the first time that Wolfie had ever had a group of friends out for a meal on his birthday and he got a furry themed cocktail book and a jar of olives in return. The smells of Red's were fantastic and the food was too, although for a meat place, I thought they would have done a greater range of steaks than just one. Wolfie got a bucket-o-ribs which was so large, he had to take it home in a puppy bag and we were eating it for our dinner on Monday and Tuesday. The mac-n-cheese was watery and disappointing but their homemade jerky was excellent along with their pulled pork beans (I hate how the Americanism "pulled pork" has taken off over here). The beer choice was great too, excellent beers indeed.

While we were waiting for people to arrive (and Stray/Luna who arrived half an hour after the meal had started at Red's), we gathered in Friends of Ham. Afterwards, we went to a new bar that has just opened. There are another two new excellent venues in the city now too while our meet venue, Baa Bar, has also started serving craft beer due to demand. Suffice to say, the Craft Beer Revolution is truly taking off in this city. Anyway, on Sunday I was deceptively drinking halves of 7% ale which after a few got me quite drunk. That made Monday at work - Transfer Deadline Day - one of the longest days of the year - quite difficult. Luckily I got a lie-in as working until 1am (as it turned out) meant I could start around lunchtime, but even that didn't make things 100%. Better though, and I got through the day, but I am a silly puppy.
