A quick break from the Armenia trip write up to focus on the two things which have happened this week - Taneli's Housewarming Party on Thursday and the regular monthly Leeds Meet today.

The former was quite a chilled affair, largely gathering around Taneli's house from around 7pm to enjoy some pizza. Arc, Stray, Adia, Wolfie and Taneli of course were all in attendance and we had a relaxed time over Domino's and trash TV, specifically a programme starring a woman who lives with a bald cat, a raccoon and a werewolf, and who enjoys making macabre themed food for no discernable reason. The plot was quite lacking and all of her creations seemed to be unnecessary complicated, but it was enjoyable just taking the piss out of it. We then had to endure Stray's exciting quiz, most of which being tailored to the elderly as it was for his working men's club later in the evening. It was me and Wolfie versus Taneli and Arc, and both teams got a rather disappointing 13/30, with me losing it on the tie breaker as I did not know much about the Great Train Robbery. It was after this that Stray and Arc had to leave, the former to be the quizmaster for real, while the remaining quartet stayed behind and watched Paw Patrol, a pursuit that I have really started to enjoy of late. We took this piss out of this too. It was a fantastic evening and one which wasn't particularly boozy either, on account of the fact I am currently trying to avoid the stuff as I've drank an awful lot over the last three months or so.

This lack of alcohol continued into today's Meet, to the point that I decided to suit for the first time at a Meet for a good number of months. It was great to be back in suit again and performing was great fun, although the sheer number of people in the city did make the walk a little prescriptive and difficult to handle. Today's Meet was also the first where we introduced the quiz again, with Arc doing a great job with her number 7 themed questions. I think this went down well and it resulted in many more people staying at the venue longer, which was the desired aim. Aside from this, it was just great meeting with friends again and chatting. We got to try their sumptuous vegan mac and cheese burger, which was quite the revelation - with even Avon being converted to vegan food - although going for grub afterwards proved to be difficult as everywhere was so busy. This is one of the reasons why I dislike this time of year, and even getting the bus back was rammed, with my fursuit box being wedged between my belly and the seat in front of me as there was nowhere else to put it. Regarding dinner, we ended up in Trinity again - overpriced and averge as it is - where I got a hot black pudding scotch egg and undercooked sweet potato fries, thus highlighting my point. We then headed back home, with Wolfie a little drunk having had to deal with another incident of drama, and me in something of a grump with our food options along with a number of other small annoyances. As usual, I have huge post-meet social anxiety, fearing I made an arse of myself or wasn't as happy or outward going as I should be. Wolfie's unfounded comments of me being jealous of another suiter certainly did not help as I hate to give the wrong impression. It was also interesting that four lads decided to take the piss out of me while wearing a tiara I got for finishing second in the quiz, which I happened to be wearing at the time. I don't know why a guy wearing a plastic tiara is worth such merth but it is a little sad and affects my desire to wear more female clothing in public. Still, all in all it was a great day and I'm looking forward to another relaxed day tomorrow.
