You Put Your Granddad On Robot Wars

It's been a very quiet weekend, largely by design due to the previous two weekends being at conventions. We could have gone to Collared this weekend but we decided against it, largely because I wanted to avoid drinking, which I have successfully done all weekend thus far. Furthermore, Wolfie needed to go and see his parents before they go away for a month on vacation, plus it also afforded us a whole day yesterday in order to have some kink-based play. It was quite a day.
The only other thing I've done is meet Arcais in town earlier today to see the new Harrison Ford film, Call of the Wild. Based on the book of the same name, which Arc has read, she told me that the film was somewhat sanitized for a more child-friendly audience. Furthermore, it's odd that the main protagonist is not a German Shepherd in the film, which would have made more sense. It was a very enjoyable film though, exploring animal's co-dependence on man and the balance between obiedience and instinct, and I did thoroughly enjoy it. It was also great meeting up with Arc again and chatting, both in the Starbucks before and walking around Leeds after until she had to get her train.
This has largely been it for this week. We went to the coffee meet on Tuesday but there is very little to report there apart from meeting up with one of the guys who runs Leeds Pride, who is hoping we can do some advertising for him ahead of the parade. We are still in 200 Degrees but the venue isn't overly suitable, with us having to do a lot of furniture rearranging just to fit us all in. Furthermore, the range of teas and coffees isn't the strongest, but with no other venue of the right size or open until late, it's difficult to know what to do. That's a task for this month.
We also had to leave the coffee meet early as we had things to do, not least swing by Costco to grab some toilet paper. We were caught up in the Coronavirus hysteria here as it was all sold out, which was annoying as we were close to running out (although fortunately the local Sainsbury's did have some left). I am quite philosophical on Coronavirus, but I did work from home on Friday as I had something of a sore throat. This ended up being an over-reaction on my part, not least because the company has told us only to travel for 'non-essential' reasons (with the definition of essential being VERY fluid), but I thought it best to follow the official guidelines even if no-one else was. Still, I hope it doesn't affect any plans for the next month.
