We've made it back to Germany, with the only question now outstanding is when we will leave. I am torn between going back to the UK quickly in order to save money or sticking around over the summer and using the opportunity to see more of the local area. We have still got a lot of things we'd like to do and see while here and with Wolfie's job unlikely to follow him back to the UK, I can see advantages to both staying and going. In the meantime, we will try and make it to a BDSM munch but that and the Fureigners Meet this week are looking unlikely on account of a 48-hour Warn Streik which is taking place over Wednesday and Thursday.

It is clear that nearly all of our friends and family are back in the UK and I really do miss the house. Having been there for a week, I can see there's a lot of potential in the place and I'd like to put more of my efforts into it. On Friday, we went out for a curry with Wolfie's parents and aside from the time that Mr Wolf farted in our kitchen, it was all rather nice. It was Shezzans again, so we popped off to Bargain Booze beforehand to get pint cans of Cruzcampo, before going for the curry. I had the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and onion bhaji, the latter two I shared with Wolfie. Wolfie's mother didn't eat all her food so we ended up having a few bites of hers too. In the end, they left by 7:30pm, as they had arrived early. This meant we had most of the rest of the night free. We kinda wasted it, falling asleep somewhat, but we did get up and watched 'The World's Most Dangerous Roads' while sharing some beers. These were ones we have had in our cupboards for years and are mostly past their dates, but they seemed to work nonetheless.

It has been a rather boozy week, typified by the LeedsFurs Meet on Saturday. Whereas February's was very quiet - so much so that the bar dropped us a message warning us we would need to spend more - the March meet was very well attended, with over 90 furs and around 60 fursuiters. We made sure the bar advertised their food more clearly and it was good to see the queues at the bar being three or four deep. It was great catching up with loads of people, including meeting some new friends too. This was particularly the case later in the evening when we met Tonks's friends at the Northern Market, which is what the Assembly Rooms have become now that Vocation moved out and Northern Monk moved in. This has a more Victorian brickwork vibe compared to the canteen effect from before, with the bar moved to the centre rather than out back where it was before. The negative of this is that there are far fewer taps, maybe about 12 as opposed to the 74 that were there last time. Still, the drink was quite wide-ranging and we ended up going for a few of the cans in the end too. We were with Whiskian and he was very keen for us to stay out, so even though I was flagging by about 8:30pm, I pushed my way through. It's amazing how tiring socialising can be though. I was stuck at one end of the table and did feel a little left out though, not least because there were quite a few new people in our entourage. Halfway through, Baz's friends turned up and we ended the evening at Blind Tyger, up at the top of town. This is a cocktail bar with darkened hues and green wallpaper. It was quite quiet, but the cocktails were excellent, even if my small glass of Lisbon Tart did end up costing £10. This has always been my problem with cocktail bars - while the drinks are excellent, they never seem worth the price and I ended up sipping mine slowly. Getting the beer as part of their happy hour may have been better but when in a cocktail bar, surely you'd want to get a cocktail.

We had eaten food earlier in the day at Meat:Stack just opposite the railway station. This was between leaving the furmeet venue and before going to The Northern Market. As we had waited for everyone to leave, it was just Patter, Sy, Wolfie and myself. This meant we could easily get a table and the food was exquisite. My smash burger was divine while Wolfie's chicken tenders were among the most succulent chicken I had ever tasted. It certainly was 'cooked to perfection'. Anyway, by the time we got home, it was past midnight, with Wolfie calling it right when he did (even though I was happy to have another cocktail). However, with our flight back to Germany on Sunday, we thought it best to get a good night's sleep and this is what we managed to do. This meant Sunday was pretty straightforward - we spoke to the neighbours and stocked up on crumpets at ASDA before skid-arsing our way over to Manchester. Two Greggs later and we were ready to check in, with us going to our usual bar in Terminal 3 (The Nook) where we enjoyed Clwb Tropicana in a cramped space. The whole journey took about nine hours and I won't miss it when we do move back, but at least it was rather smooth. Sadly, it was less smooth for the poor kid who vomited in the longest queue I have ever seen for passport control back in Germany, covering the bottom of a lady's trousers in the process. She was initially not happy, but at least took it in good humour in the end.
