Never Fall In Line

It has been a truly fantastic and relaxing weekend - in fact the best one I remember for quite a while.
On Saturday evening Wolfie came up and we spent most of our time chilling. We ate pizza and watched The Golden Compass which we failed to catch at the cinema when it was out at the start of last year. It is a good film and dealt with many interesting sociological concepts but it all felt too convenient and rushed to me. The storyline was one dimensional and everything just seemed to fall into place. They could have spent an extra half hour fleshing out the details and have came up with a truly excellent movie. Still, it was an enjoyable yarn and of course, a furry's wet dream.
Sunday was just spent relaxing and having a three course meal which ended in the best possible way of all - a cheeseboard. We were pretty bloated after this but the country pub we went to was excellent. After that we went back to mine and played Peggle!! He is quite taken by its peggley charms too. We then rearranged my room so all the furniture is now in weird places. Still, it needed to be done as I now have a double bed ;-)
I feel really close to Wolfie at the moment and I am hopelessly in love with him. Being with him all weekend was truly special and I am really glad that I have such a great guy in my life. Love you hun *hugs*
As I had today off due to my crazy work patterns, I had arranged to go and see Redmoor in York to imbibe in a bit of wine and cheese. Wolfie drove me down last night and we were soon tucking in to some Edam, a nice slab of Goat's Cheese and some truly gorgeous Norweigen Jalsberg. Sadly, the wine we had was rather poor. We started with a dreadful red (Castillo de Diablo) before moving on to an admittedly pleaseant-enough rose (it's hard to go wrong with rose, as it's pink). We then finished with Hardy's Australian Chardonnay - which had been a gift from a friend. It was okay but after eating three huge blocks of cheese between us - the saturated fat was starting to get us high and we weren't really up for much wine.
Redmoor put a Canadian kids' show on called Jane And The Dragon which was rather excellent. Sadly, it infiltrated my mind and I had crazy dreams about rescuing dragons and sailing on boats all night, all in a Medieval bent. Still, great fun.
Today we went into York where we bumped into Oracle, completely at random. As teacakes were on the agenda, we decided to invite him and we were soom tucking into Yorkshire tea and teacakes, whilst imbibing in the finest furry conversation available to humanity. It was great just being able to chat to people and relax - something I have been lacking for quite a while.
After this, we did a bit of shopping, where I terrorised various members of staff by making various urbane comments. We tried to work out what beaver like animal begins with a letter M (in a plush shop they had some carved wood letters with a different animal corresponding to the letter on them) before I bought Dogz the Computer Game and an international translator for £2 each at Borders (I was going to buy Clifford The Dog's Grammar Challenge or something for £1 but thought it would be too difficult). I also managed to pick up four new continental beers I had never tried and also went to Pivo - the excellent continental beer bar in York to try another one.
It was great going to Redmoor's and just chilling and I think this is the key to my current feelings. I think I do need to spend more time socialising and relaxing in little groups like this - away from work and the responsibilities of organising a meet. I am feeling very bouncy at the moment and hopefully this will continue into the week :-)
