lupestripeThe weekend was a rather relaxing one, albeit one that involved me skid-arsing around the country like a drunk-driver with OCD.
Started off at home then moved to Leeds to see Wolfie for the last time in three weeks. We toured the Royal Armories where I mrrred at the suits of armour there (I have a thing for masks and face coverings, okay?) and learned a lot about medieval heraldry and attack and defence tactics from across the world. The Medieval Chinese and African suits of armour and weapons were particularly interesting as it's not something you normally hear a lot about in Britain. The only criticism, I guess, was that there was too much armour there - I know it was the Royal Armouries - but it got a little too samey after a while. Still, a good three hours was had.
We skirted by a sauna before I headed off to the delightful town of Cheltenham, in which there is nothing but posh people and horse racing. From there, I went to the village of Northleach, which I believe to be in Gloucestershire. I was staying in a cottage called The Guggle with my university mates. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it down there in time to go to Go Ape but we caught up afterwards with fine dining and drinking, Cambridge style. We also chatted about my forthcoming trip to SE Asia and I received some handy travel advice.
Sunday was spent walking around the countryside. It was refreshing and exciting to be back out in the country again, I don't get to walk enough really - not having a car and living in a densely populated area. The horseflies were bitches though and there were numerous potential incidents of "get 'orf my land" as we couldn't read the map. I also threw the frisbee into a stream with a bed of nettles. Got it out at the end.
After that, I made the trip to London via three traffic jams, taking four hours in all. Arrived here about 9:30pm, met up with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
blueberrybadger for a quick drink before heading to my friend's, where I am staying.
I have two meetings today before I go to a heavy metal rock club in Mayfair this evening. And then tomorrow I fly to Singapore. I have started taking my malarials and I can't wait *bounces*
