I have always been interested in languages and it is similar to German. I find my job not particularly stimulating on an intellectual level so felt I would try learning another language to keep the old grey matter functioning :)
*looks thinks hard*.... ok you got me... what does it mean
I know Ge means give (or the like).. but that's it
mmm.. does sound like fun.... good luck anyway
I really do need to learn another lanuage.... I know words and enough to place a word i don't know.... but it would be interesting to know the whole lanuage
(at current I know the writen version of irish gealic.... but can't speak it)
It's a word I just made up. You're looking too deeply into it lols.
I speak three languages - English, German, Spanish - but it is a matter of practice really. Try looking for languages near you - it's a rewarding and fun experience :)
I have a pirate flag so all I need to do is buy and build a flat-pack ship. Easier said than done. And the plank is confusing, it will look like the ship hasn't been built properly even though it has.
Hmm, I keep meaning to find a German tutor/evening classes, but never quite get around to doing so. It would come in very handy for the career further down the line.
I don't really know of any better way to improve, though. Unfortunately, practising with native friends never, ever works, particularly when their English is already nearly as good as yours! :)
Yep, I often found that. I wanted to start speaking in a foreign language and because their English is better than my foreign language, they tend to get annoyed and start speaking English. Still, sometimes you can find someone willing to speak to you. Good luck with it :)
Cheers! Just out of interest, how did you find it easiest to learn and improve? Private tuition all along, more of a small group environment with people of similar ability, or some other way?
I lived there. There is nothing better than total immersion in order for you to improve. It's often automatic. Apart from that, I tend to listen to music in that foreign language. Being a fan of German metal helps with that, of course. Doing that means you can get an ear for how the language sounds.
