Yesterday was one of those days when it was great to be alive. The sun was shining and we headed down to Pudsey Park to check out some local bands.

There was no beer tent sadly, which would have made a great addition, but indie rockers Quentin's Basement were particularly grand and we enjoyed bathing in the sunshine. We also went to the small wildlife centre in the park along with the tropical world greenhouse. It was great seeing the exotic plants, nuzzly rabbits and scary fish. The full size recreation of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, complete with lock gate was a highlight. It was small exhibit but considering it's free, you can't complain. Plus it was very edumacational too.

After this we went to Mr and Mrs Wolfie's for a family barbecue. In October. It truly was quite remarkable. Mrs W made a delightful potato salad with olive oil while Mr W was on BBQ duty. The food was from a local farm shop. The snausages were lovely but the lamb chops were too fatty. It was great having a final summer blowout and I admit I felt bloaty pup for the rest of the evening. We also played the hitting people on the head with a spoon game and more of Wolfie's relatives came round later.

We ended up watching Fireman Sam, both the old and new versions. I am not so sure about the latter - it's one of those shows which proves computer animation cab sometimes ruin things. The voice acting in particular didn't marry with the mouth movements of the characters. Plus Fireman Sam is a right fat bastard now. Still, the yarns were quite good. Red is for danger, this is what I said...
