So Wolfie and I have lived together for two years now. Things are bubbling along okay although life's minor irritations are affecting me more than they should. The delegation of washing up, vacuuming and the length of time the heating is left on have both been particular flashpoints of late. I guess I am too fussy and Wolfie is too laid-back, and sometimes this is frustrating. I like to get stuff done, Wolfie is more relaxed and this sometimes creates conflict.

Still generally it's going well and living together is always about compromise. I just need to be more relaxed and submissive about some of these small things. And at least we haven't killed each other yet. I think the balance between together time and alone time aids this - we have some different interests that we like to pursue and some different friends too. This alleviates the feeling of living on top of each other, which we rarely get. So generally living together is working well - we'll see what the next year brings.

As today is Shrove Tuesday, Wolfie and I teamed up with Draken and Arcais to enjoy a Smorgasbord of pancakes at the Dragon's Den. Sadly, there was no Deborah Meaden or Theo Pathwotsit stroking their money, neither was there the charming baldness of Evan Davies. There was a large Scouser cooking a pizza though, and hogging the living room for three hours, thus confining us to the kitchen.

We bought a range of different ingredients for the pancake buffet. Here are the different fillings we had:

Blue cheese and marscapone - a nice mix of sharpness and creaminess, the two complemented each other well.
Red Leicester - it was difficult to taste this amongst the batter of the pancake.
Brie - this was a little too sharp for my tastes in all honesty, although the taste became more acquired the more of it we ate.
Nutella and cinnamon - with one whole hazelnut in 15g, plus a fuckton of sugar too. The cinnamon flavour was drowned out by the mulch.
Smoked salmon - this was particularly gorgeous, very much like the pancakes we had in Russia.
Haggis - this Scottish themed pancake was absolutely delicious, the best of the night, plus we made a smiley face out of the haggis too, which we coined the elephant's heamerroid.

Draken proved himself to be a champion tosser, although today is the only day when hitting the ceiling is considered a bad toss. The company was excellent as always, we watched a brilliant programme about wheat and stacked random objects into towers. What better way to spend an evening? We left when Big Fat Gypsy Weddings came on - that was only going to taint the evening.
