Saturday evening we headed over to The Moody Cow in Apperley Bridge to celebrate Adia's birthday. Logistically, it was quite difficult to get to by public transport and it being on a meet day made it more difficult as Wolfie couldn't drive due to drink so I had to leave the meet quite early.

As it turned out, Wolfie had an awful lot to drink and had to leave the meet early anyway, spending the rest of the evening being quite ill. This meant I went to the restaurant on my own, meeting Taneli on the bus and the others at the venue. The walk up there - a former pub - was a nice ten minute stroll up and down a valley carved through by the canal and river, plus it was good to talk with Neli a bit.

The meal itself was fantastic although I'm not sure worth the £35 I paid for it. The steak was cooked exceptionally well though and the extras were also good. The salad bar was a real highlight - unlimited and free with the most delightful coleslaw I've ever tasted. The in-house beer was also delicious, with a smooth taste and nice tang to it.

It was great chatting with friends and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed. I gave Adia my present - a deer (tee hee hee) - and the whole evening was a great delight. Soon though Draken had to drive me home to a still ill Wolfie, who sent me to one of the local shops for pizza. As we have just moved house, we hasn't tried this one in a while and it was quite nice, with excellent garlic sauce. Definitely one to go to again, as is The Moody Cow.
