Furmeets Around The World

Having come back from SE Asia and having spoken to a few American furs, I have noticed that furmeets around the world are similar yet different at the same time.
As far as I am aware, the UK fur meets are the ones that focus most on alcohol - particularly as we mostly convene in a pub. Whether this says something about the British mentality or not, I am not so sure.
Singapore furs tend to congregrate around The Food Court - a bustling space dedicated to over fifty small kiosks selling a vast variety of food. Again, this is symptomatic of local culture - food is a national passtime for Singaporeans - and alcohol is positively discouraged there. They also hang around malls, reflecting another favourite passtime - shopping.
The Malaysian furs, like the American furs, seem to favour coffee shops - particularly The Coffee Bean, SE Asia's version of Starbucks - for their meets. The Americans, meanwhile, often favour private house parties or bowling from what I have been told.
So my question is, what are furmeets like in your part of the world and do they reflect national identity in any way? And what would your ideal furmeet entail?
