Having just been through something similar I can only say that yes, if you are saying something about other people make absolutely sure you're saying it to the right person.

There are so many people whom need to take this to heart and actually obey it, I've lost count of the number of times I've had my feelings hurt because someone deliberately said something to me that they knew I wouldn't want to hear.
