The Sheffield Meet yesterday was strangely subdued. It may have been because we didn't arrive until after 3pm due to reasons of laziness and libido (procrasturbation as JM Horse tweeted) but the numbers were thin and the room had a noticeable furry funk. It's sad to see the meet numbers reducing as the number of furs increases. Not many seem to venture out of the confines of their hometowns now, which is sad.

Still it was good seeing some old friends such as Ent, Sil, Lonewolf, Spargue and Patter as well as getting to know a few people a bit better. The Meet itself was very civilized, nothing raucous but with the usual furry elements of indecision. The chatter was quite intellectual though and a nice change from computing and yet more computing.

Ye Olde Queen's Head was the usual den of awesomeness with friendly staff and fantastic beer. Afterwards nine of us went to The Devonshire Cat which was rammed but thinned out as the night wore on. Here we tried three delicious winter ales and a very nice pork pie. The staff complained about how rude many of the people were while commending us furs for being polite. One barmaid even recognized us from June which was nice.

Afterwards we got the train home and called at McDonald's to sample their McFestive Burger in a cheesy bun. It's quite possibly the greatest thing they have ever done! On the way home, at the bus stop we saw a cute little nuzzly bichon-frise puppy. He was very inquisitive and liked Wolfie a lot. He was more scared of me but then I hadn't taken off my collar so he may have been confused. He did lick my paw though before his owner tucked him in her coat. It was really sweeeet ^^

With the price of transport these days, can you blame them?

I am sure this plays a very significant part, as well as the current turmoil economically. However, some intercity bus routes are still very cheap and in many cases quicker than taking the train.

What is this McFestive burger? And why haven't they brought it to the states? :O Nothing with cheese in the bun could ever be bad. :9

Crap, that looks classy! We don't get any special buns on the burgers here.

Don't you? I thought the States was the home of the burger.

I thought so too. XD We've got angus patties and such, but no fancy buns.
