I wonder how many furs want to be anthropomorphic or animals because they don't want to be human. And I also wonder how many furs would want to be human (or something else) if they actually were anthropomorphic or animals. I should stop focusing on the philosophy.

I would for one, like to become my anthro fursona.

I would too, but I do fear that if I did become my anthro fursona, I'd get bored of it and want to be something else.

I'm in the camp with "Not wanting to be a human". If I had the chance to become an anthro kittycat (and change my gender as well) I'd definitely jump on it, and not look back. :D

But would you? Or would you get bored of being an anthro kittycat after a while and want to move on to something else?

Well, I might want to change to a dragon just to be able to fly at some point. But as long as I don't have to be a human, I'd be happy.

I am getting the impression chameleonic changes are the way forward so boredom and feelings of loathing won't set in.

1, Nope, and nope I am human and they are just characters (for fun or role play) as far as I am concerned.

2, Well we could do a bit of role play here and pass that second question off to the characters on my roster.

Alexfox - "Hu- What? Sorry pal I've got no time to talk about your fairy tale creature things. Just let me get back to my booze, it's better brainrot than your line of nonsense" (lives in a world where humans don't exist).

Sorvall - "You mean the little hairless squishy pink things that go splat if you just look at them in the wrong way? Ha! No thanks!"

Korzac (pictured) - "A Human? What is that? Do you mean Humaazas that live on the western isles of the southern continent? No sorry, I wouldn't want to be anything with excessive fat and flatulence." (lives before the Lortax have independent space flight, or have contact with humans).

Xela - "humm... Human's? Studied a lot about their culture and habits as part of my work, but after dealing with several clients of that said species and their confused feelings and ideology toward social issues and sex, I would say no and no again to wanting to be one."

So NO on both fronts then :P

I imagine it is all about perspective, which is why I ask. I would like to be an anthrohusky because I am not too enamored with being human, even though I see the positives of being such. However, I imagine my insecurities will manifest themselves in a different way if I was an anthrohusky, replacing one sense of longing with another.

I enjoy being human. It's living in a world saturated with humans that brings me down and makes me desire the company of non-humans so much.

Yep, pretty much agree with you.

what about being human and living with a anthropomorphic? Seeing how we treat animals i would not want to be a pet or a farm animal, and i don't think wild animals get much better treated!

So a human living with an anthropomorphic? Would that be just friends or in a relationship? The query opens up many interesting ethical, practical and scientific questions. I wouldn't mind being a dog - I imagine life would be quite good to be one - but I would want a nice owner. An anthropomorphic - that depends on society and societal tolerances of such things. I wouldn't want to be anthropomorphic in a world that hates anthropomorphics.

Hm! Not sure, really.. I'm not especially taken with the human form, though it'll do, but there's no question I'd leap at the opportunity to become much more like my SL self. Ideally including the wardrobe. =:)

Can't you get the wardrobe already? As I mentioned earlier, it would depend what society's view of anthropomorphics is before I would decide whether I want to become one.

I would want to be anthropomorphic (not necessarily saying I don't want to be human). I, of course, would want to change from time to time from one fursona to another (I would probably grow tired of just being one all the time). I could be Shadow when I wanted to be playful, Lai' Zer when I wanted to be energetic with others, or in other instances, "frisky", and I could be Mitalik when I wanted/needed to be alone.

So basically a lycanthropy with different fursonas - chamelionic if you will. I could go for that :)
