lupestripe | The First Leeds Minimeet

The inaugural Leeds Minimeet went rather well, with around 25 furs in attendance. I feel this is a nice number for meets, small enough to be able to speak to everyone but large enough to have a bit of diversity. It was also good meeting a few new furs and some old ones I hadn't seen for a long time. Thanks to all those who came.

I was running late due to my need to work in Italian and as Massey's was closed, we headed to Bar Revolution. This was nice apart from the occasional screaming child and the hen parties, which admittedly weren't too raucous when we left around 6pm. The range of beer, and particularly spirits, was good and we impressed the bar staff so much that they want us back with perhaps some offers thrown into the mix. It was nice having our own secluded area too.

The meet itself was relaxed, no stresses whatsoever and I think everyone had a good time. There was a lot of acute drunkenness going on which was quite amusing while one of the barkeeps was very interested in us, which was nice.

After the bar, we went to Massey's before splitting into two, football fans and non-football fans. The latter stayed behind, the former went to Foley's via Bar Burrito to watch the Poland v Czech game. Sadly the Poles crashed out rather limply but the company was excellent, as was the beer, even though Stray Jim nabbed my last bottle of Galaxy. After the game we headed back to Massey's.

The first Minimeet went quite well and with three bars (the other being Distrikt) desperate for our custom and two willing to put offers on for us, I see a bright future for this venture. See you on July 21!
