The Sheffield Meet went well but it was always going to as it was in the delightful Hop Bar, a venue with a symposium of fine real ales and beers to try. As I had to be in work at 7am next day I had to pace myself but this didn't stop me from trying a wide range of drinks.

Lots of old friends popped out of the woodwork for this one - in many ways it was back to 2007 again and my early days of the Fandom. There was no suiting either which made socializing the primary focus of the gathering. I don't mind some meets with suiting but it's good to take a break and let the social take the stage.

We had our own area but we shared the bar space with Morris Dancers who were doing their little jigs in the courtyard outside. They are amongst the few groups who make furries look cool and the look of disdain a blacked-up dancer gave me when he saw my bright pink tail was priceless.

Lots of people were interested about furry and it was great telling the curious all about us. 'The Creeper' butted in on occasion but he was far more sedate than usual and the general public were fascinated about who we are and what we do. I enjoy explaining it. Also we took the "I want to go BOWLING" thing to another level on the art roll deeley, with me perplexing people with my limited Russian (it meant 'awkward').

After a good eight hours or so - and thankfully missing a work colleague who turned up less than half an hour after we had left - I got some delightful chips and mushy peas from a local chippie (loads of salt, excellent combination) and headed to The Sheffield Tap to wait for my t'rain. A 14% beer later, we boarded our t'rain after a wonderful day.
