Smartphone Snobbery
Sep. 14th, 2012 10:14 amSo Apple have released a new product with all the slick marketing that goes with it and my twitter feed has become swamped with the usual smartphone snobbery that comes as a result. It's very sad that some people seem to judge others on the type of phone they get while I find the whole debate, which largely consists of vitriolic abuse between proponents of Apple and the other smartphones on the market, somewhat pathetic.
Granted some good points are made above the noise but for people who simply don't care about technology or its functionality, and who buy such things to cater for their specific needs, it's all somewhat baffling. Some of the generalisations made, particularly against Apple users, have been truly baffling.
I care more about my network than what my phone is, provided that phone works of course. And while I accept this is a big deal to many people such is the passion that is invoked, I have found the whole thing tedious.
Sorry but those are my thoughts on the matter, as unpopular as they be. Agree to disagree I guess but I'm just completely bored by it.
